Getting
Specific about Saving the World
What concrete elements do we need to incorporate into
our lifestyle in order to become working members of
an evangelizing Church? In this session we will get
down to brass tacks about living a full and authentic
Christian life -- not in word only, but in deed.
We
will begin by inviting input from all. Father Knight
will take it from there, working toward a practical
plan, different for each individual but similar enough
to reveal a "common unity."

The
Spirituality of Harry Potter and Other Fairy Tales
Team-taught by Fr. David Knight and Marsha Raus
We
will explore the spiritual themes presented in the Harry
Potter series of books, including love, sacrifice, the
contemplation of Hell, single-heartedness, idolatry,
dying to self, consolation and desolation and eternal
life. Preferably, students should have read the books
prior to beginning the course. We also discuss the use
of fairy tales as Christian literature with a brief
overview of the writings of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien
and others.
